The longtime School of Aerospace Engineering professor and NAE member was chosen to receive an honorary doctorate from Taiwan's National Cheng Kung University, one of the largest and most influential universities in Asia.

Soon afterwards, Yang learned that, for the fourth time in a year, his scholarly research has been published in the prestigious journal, Physics of Fluids - this time, featured on the front cover.

The article, "Three-dimensional Flow Dynamics and Mixing in a Gas-centered Liquid-swirl Coaxial Injector at Supercritical Pressure" was co-authored by Yang and his former graduate students (now a research engineers) Xingjian Wang, and  Yanxing Wang. Their work was selected for promotion to the front cover of the June 2019 edition of the journal.

Physics of Fluids (PoF) is devoted to publishing original theoretical, computational, and experimental contributions to the understanding of the dynamics of gases, liquids, and complex or multiphase fluids.
